fish and piglet
This is my new Betta/Siamese fighting fish that I got on Memorial Day, May 28th, (just downloaded the pics). His name is Prince, but not after the singer, as he's not even wearing a raspberry beret. He's a show quality fish, which meant he cost a bit more, though he didn't look all that different than the others.
My previous betta, a female named Valentine (a consolation gift to myself on that February holiday), I had for well over 3 years, which exceeds their average lifespan. I hope this one lasts as long.Prince didn't stay in this little cup for long, he is sole occupant of the 5 gallon tank in my bedroom, where he even has a little castle. He likes to dance in the bubbles from the airstone as well. He's a bit slow learning the signal that means dinner time(a light tap on the lid), I usually must wait til he leisurely swims towards the top & then drop the food in. Maybe he's the Brad Pitt of bettas? For those who asked after Rufus, he's nearly back to normal now, busy & playful. He's still not drinking as much water as before, but gets lots of moisture from his wetted fresh veggies. He's even begun eating his new Oxbow kibbles that have more vitamins. We both thank you for your concern & interest.

Thinking of you and Rufus.......
I love the Siamese Fighting Fish. We had one years ago. Actually, we had 2 but in separate bowls so they could see each other and flare up.
Unfortunately, I lost one due to an unfortunate incident. My mom was watching them at the time and she put the temp. up too high.
I'm sure he would be a beautiful subject for your art.
He's a beauty. We had a blue one named Jupiter for many years. Where do you get those Oxbow Kibbles?
My aunt actually bred bettas for a while. Beautiful, beautiful creatures. And he is gorgeous!
Glad to hear that Rufus is doing so well.
Hi! Thanks for coming by and commenting. Always fun to meet new people. Prince is beautiful. Great picture, too.
Read back in your entries about Rufus. Glad he is finally doing well.
Hope your bronchitis is well by now, too. Used to have a lot of problems with it, too, and am happy I don't seem to anymore. Other problems, for sure, but not bronchitis!!
Just stopped by 2 say hi and I'm thinking of you. Hug and God Bless!

I have absolutely lousy luck with betta's and I cry everytime I lose one so I won't get any more. ...Prince is pretty. (don't know how I got so far behind in reading)
