  • newest painting

This is one of the new paintings I'm sending to Daytona Beach, Florida for the "Cold-Blooded Creations" show next weekend, Aug. 17-19th. It's called "Muskrat Neighbors" and besides the title animal, also has a Spotted Turtle, Wood Frog & Question mark butterfly in it. Done in acrylic on a canvas panel, it measures 20"x16".

  • Jackie, I always think that you should be illustrating children's books; your paintings have that timeless feel. The turtle looks so lifelike, as though he's about to take another step; and I am *thrilled* by the two trees to the right (or one tree that has split)... I will not be surprised to find you illustrating one day. :)

  • Jackie, this is lovely! Very striking.
    Good luck at the show.

  •  That is awsome you did a great job Good luck Hugs and God Bless

  • Something about this reminds me of a children's book I've read. I'll be up all night wracking my brain now. LOL

  • That is striking.  I will be eager to know how it is judged.

I love the background here.  It looks like part of the Emerald Necklace...such a beautiful place...It appears so cool...

I was looking at the Queen Anne's Lace in your previous post.  I've always loved the Queen Anne's Lace that covered the roadsides and fields in OH.   I miss it.  Yes, it is in the carrot family.  If I remember, the root is white.

  • In my comment to your July 28 post i asked you what the topic of your next painting was . I have the answer . Of course I like the Musktat and his neighbor but I am amazed by the foliage . You have a real personal style , Jackie . I am sure your painting will be appreciated in Daytonia .

  • Amazing work you do and I'm sure in 'real' life much more detail can be seen. How long did this take you?

  • I agree about the children's books because it has a magical feel that is often found in children's books. There is an underlying idealism in that piece and even the title is cheerful and uplifting.

  • I just love your artwork! You are so talented! Thanks for sharing this. I have family in Florida, (I was just there last week!) so I'll tell them to check it out (btw...where in Daytona Beach?)

And I agree with the others too, that you should do illustrations for children's book.
