simple chatter
Went to the diabetic doctor today & had the most wonderful surprise: I've lost 6 pounds! Yaaaaaayyyyy! It might not seem like much, but last year I gained 10 lbs. so this is a step in the right direction. With having bronchitis & a pulled back for a good part of the summer, I hadn't been able to exercise. The last couple months I have been doing a little routine with 5 lb. barbels, plus taking a few long walks, which obviously have been having more of an effect than I thought. This is just the sort of encouragement I needed to push me to walk more often.
I'm still trying to get the equipment I need to convert to DSL, as my old computer(99 Gateway) doesn't have en Ethernet port. Talking to the tech support of my ISP was useless, they couldn't even understand what my problem was. Finally I found out that I need an Ethernet card, which has the port built in & supposedly I can install it myself. Not sure about the last part, but maybe I can work up my nerve to do so by the time it arrives. I have spent so many hours trying to find out what to do, in addition to trying to download my email on dial-up, that I run out of steam to do anything else such as update my blog or comment on others. Sorry about that, but hopefully it will be fixed soon.

It's National Wolf Awareness Week. I don't know if it's a different animal each week of the year or what, but it's always worth a few minutes to think of a certain animal, whether a cute one such as a squirrel or a magnificent creature like a wolf. Actually wolves ought to be an International event, since they are endangered in all parts of the globe, but who knows how they decide these things.
The Cleveland Indians baseball team is battling the New York Yankees in the playoffs, so I'm rooting for the home team. It would be great if Cleveland would at least win their division. To complete the mood, I'm reading a mystery novel about old-time baseball players in WWI.

Congratulations.
Are you feeling any better as a result?
My state just recently allowed the hunting of grey wolves again. I'm very disgusted by that.
I know you was happy with the good news at the Doctor's office.
Hope that every thing else is ok with you.
Just got myself a brand new computer today and just got on line tonight.
I'll up date later
Take care Have a wounderful Tue.

CONGRATS! Cool.
Wolves... I hope I don't need to be too aware of them, here... I *would* be surprised to find one of those (unlike the squirrels) in my front yard. Of course, if I had a wolf in the front yard, I probably wouldn't have any squirrels.
I'm still on dial-up, too, and my computer itself has slowed down... Mine probably has spyware on it or something. I sympathize with how long it can take to load things. Sometimes my computer disconnects and then I have to start all over! I try to do most of my "checking up" on friends' sites while I am at the university - they're on high speed.

Jacks,
(I love it when you are able to make it over to the site. When I was writing the post about the festival - it's a few posts down, you probably didn't read it - when I was writing about the little girl dancing, it made me think of you, because we share that drawing fever.
RYC: I think I ran the defrag a month ago...(Of course, who could depend on the Swiss cheese that is my memory). Yeah, when you said "antibiotics" I recalled at once that you are diabetic. Grandmother Dotte was a diabetic (I gave her the insulin shots), and I remember how she healed (I should say didn't...not well, anyhow, or speedily).
Mama's leg IS returning to normal, she says she had much less pain today.
That's Breton's new patented pose before any camera. His face goes frozen. It's a shame, too, because he used to be a photogenic child, with natural poses.
Would you mind terribly keeping my doctor's appt. this month because I don't think I've lost a pound! Plus stress levels I bet wreck havoc on my A1c.
Good news about your health . It ' s a relief .
In friendship
michel
