  • new drawing

Here's a drawing I did last summer of a grey treefrog on a cherry tree trunk with toadstools. The tree is one near a local nature center that I found fascinating. It's done in pencil and pen & ink. I also added a close-up of the frog, as my sister said it was hard to see, entirely missing the point of camouflage. It was one that I sent to the Cold-Blooded Creations Show in Daytona Beach, Florida last August.

  • I love it. I'm a frog fan and that is very nice. (I have been cleaning my house so have not been around visiting on xanga much.)

  • Jackie, seriously - that is *excellent*! You just seem to grow better by the year.  (I guess all we artists do - it's just experience - but all the same, someone needs to say it to you!  This one of the frog belongs in a book illustration somewhere....Honest.  This one has such a delicacy, an intricacy to it...

  • Hey im Tom, like the way you write. Come visit us and hear our music and get some ringtones. Xanga supported.

  • LOL about your sister's comment.  He's really sweet, the little frog. I love how his pattern fits in with the elements of the tree.   I fell in love with frogs in my college town as there were yellow warning signs on the streets all around the preserve that said "Frog Crossing".  I thought they were a joke or a way to get people to visit the preserve until one day I went walking in it with my friend and each step we took made about a million-and-one tiny frogs leap about.

  • Well I admit I had to look very hard to see it. I understand camoflauge and new something was there.

  • I love your newest pic!!!!!!!!

  • That is a great picture. The textures of the tree and the camoflague of the frog worked well
