card sharp
I've been taking down the holiday decorations, but before I did, I took a photo of my card door. There were fewer cards this year, people not sending due to cost or health reasons, but I still got enough to fill the door. Besides many U.S. states, there were cards from Australia, Scotland, Germany, Canada, England & a handmade one from Finland, over 30 cards in all. Snowpeople was the popular trend this year and a lot of American cards had cardinals. The bright red birds showed up well on the festive greetings. I belong to a group devoted to squirrels & as always, there was many featuring those bushy tails. Having the cards up lets me enjoy the pictures on them & think fondly of the sender, it also adds zing to the room. But even when I take them down, I always put them away carefully as keepsakes.

The cards are my favorite part of the holidays.
Pretty. I have a card doorway and am taking it down today. I'm getting a little mad at squirrels lately as they have been chewing my trees a bit too much this winter.
Our card box is back in the closet waiting now for Dec. I didn't save all the cards though. Just special ones.
