  • Dora's birthday

    birthday 2011, apart
Dora's birthday was March 17th(yes, she's Irish. lol),she was 2 years old. So I made her a big salad to celebrate. It had 2 kinds of lettuce, celery leaves & diced carrots. She was so excited, she didn't know where to begin. This pic is when she was partway through it, tearing it apart to get at each ingredient better.

  • catching up

Lots of things have happened since I last updated & it always felt overwhelming to try to catch up, so i'll just stick with the highlights.
--On Feb 4th, I stopped at the cafe in a local library after going to their book sale to get lunch. When I was prying the lid off the soup, the microwaved liquid splashed all over my left hand & burnt it quite badly. Though it was red & blistered for awhile, it healed in about 3 weeks with no permanent damage.
--In Jan. I submitted drawings to Dogs For the Deaf for them to use on their merchandise & they liked them so much that they asked me to do more for a special t-shirt design. I did various ones, which will be used on stuff beginning this Spring or summer.I was thrilled that they liked my work enough to use them to raise funds for such a deserving organization.
--My sister & I went to a local antique show in late Feb. I took lots of photos & will post some here when I download them. There were more vendors this year, which meant more to look at. We had fun.
--I signed up for 2 art shows in April, one of which I was never in before. They are 2 weeks apart, I'm hoping that's not too close together. I'm working on hand painted book marks & other projects for the shows.
--For my birthday last week, my sister got me a Nook, the ereader from Barnes & Noble. I've spent hours learning how to work it & downloading free books for it.The ebooks from the library wasn't opening on it,which was really frustrating. I finally got everything to work the other night, so now I'm really enjoying it. I'm in the middle of reading a library ebook, "Julie & Julia" on it.Haven't seen the movie, but the book is rather funny.
I've taken tons of pics, including some new ones of Dora, which I'll be sorting & putting some on here in the coming weeks. I've neglected this site for too long & apologize to any readers I still have.
