My computer was out of commission for a couple weeks & in the shop, just got it back before last weekend and have been trying to replace all the programs & bookmarks that was erased. While it was in the shop I asked if they could install more ram, which they did & the whole system runs so much faster now. It's a remarkable difference.
While I was offline, I planted a batch of new pansies in my flowerbed, after the heat & dryness shriveled most of the old ones. This time I got just 2 colors so I'd have less decision making on where to plant them. It still took hours in 92F/30C degree heat on a Saturday evening, but I got them all in the ground. Good thing, because the next day was the start of 7 consecutive days of rain. The flowers gained multiple booms and bushy leaves. I took pictures, but my photo program is one I still must reinstall, so those pics will be posted in the near future.
When I got back online, I found an email accepting me into a new holiday craft show that I'd applied to earlier in the summer. The show is at a Catholic school (St. Bernadette's) about 5 minutes from my apartment & has a prestigious reputation. I've visited it as a customer & was impressed, so I thought I'd sumbit my work to the judges in hopes of getting in. I was thrilled to get in & am already deciding what artwork to display, even though the show isn't until Nov.5th. That makes a show for all 3 months of the holiday season, which I'm pleased about.
I also finished a painting of a turtle I've been working on for more than a year, which I've not photographed yet. It was a relief to complete it & I'm happy with the way it turned out. It's for a longtime customer, so I need to contact him to let him know. He lives along the east coast of the U.S. so I hope he wasn't affected by the recent storms & earthquake.
This weekend is an outdoor arts fest I'm hoping to visit(as a customer) on Saturday & a Pioneer Festival in the Metroparks on Sunday, so hopefully I'll have some interesting experiences to write about afterwards.
