My sister, a nurse, has to work the entire weekend, so we won't be doing anything special to mark the holiday. I did get my mom & her a lot of candy eggs and bunnies. I bought ham salad at the grocery store which I'll be having for supper; soup and sandwiches. I'm glad Lent is over, now I can get some Zone bars, which I missed. They are labeled as a nutrition bar, but I'm not sure how healthy they really are, so I ration them, though in a pinch, I will eat one or two for breakfast. Rollo will get extra carrots, in honor of the Easter Bunny.
Hope the weather is pleasant for people doing things outside. It's sunny today, but quite chilly, you need a heavy jacket and gloves. Maybe it will be warmer tomorrow? In any case, I hope everyone who is celebrating has a lovely day.

Rollo recovery

This is Rollo last week, trying to hide from me in his tunnel to avoid taking his medicine. Needless to say, I found him.We finished his antibiotics on Tuesday, as instructed, though he was feeling better the weekend before. He's eating & drinking his usual amounts and he's back to being a busy little boy. In fact, the last 2 days he's been quite bouncy, so I believe he's completely recovered from the bladder infection. Yay! I'm thankful for everyone who sent prayers, healing thoughts & good vibes, we both really appreciate it. -
sick little piggy

My little guinea pig, Rollo was acting mopey at the beginning of the week, so I took him to the vet(his first time) and discovered he has a bladder infection. The photo is one taken at the vet and posted on their Facebook and Instagram account. I wished they had taken it before he was wrapped up for his exam.
He was prescribed liquid antibiotics, which provoked wrestling matches at first, but after a couple of days, he would take them with a minimum of wriggles. He is eating better, but still not drinking his usual amount and is more active when he's awake, but antibiotics always make guinea pigs sleepy.
There was a mix-up with his samples, so we had to go back a second time to give more and now the vet has ordered more tests done on them, as they are showing red blood cells & proteins, which she did say could be signs of a receding infection or irritation of the bladder. I hope the results don't show anything more serious.
The medicine is to continue for 2 weeks and I really hope he makes a full recovery. I'm eager to have my perky little piglet back in top form again.
